43 CVE

  1. CVE-2026-115378 5.8 Moyenne

    lxc incus

Incus before 6.0.7, 6.1.0 before 7.0.2, and 7.1.0 before 7.5.0 contains an arbitrary file write vulnerability in sftpRecursivePullFile that allows a malicious incus-agent to escape the target directory during incus file pull -r. Attackers with root in a virtual machine can return duplicate entries reported first as symlinks then as files or directories, writing attacker-controlled files such as /etc/shadow on the operator's host.

  2. CVE-2026-115377 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus before 6.0.7, 6.1.0 before 7.0.2, and 7.1.0 before 7.5.0 contains an arbitrary file write vulnerability that allows malicious migration sources to write host files by planting symlinks in transferred volumes. Attackers can craft rsync or btrfs receive streams with a symlink such as rootfs pointing to the host root, writing files as root for full host compromise.

  3. CVE-2026-115376 7.7 Élevée

    lxc incus

Incus 7.0.1 before 7.0.2 and 7.2.0 before 7.5.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows project-restricted clients to copy volumes by omitting source.type. Attackers can send crafted POST requests to the custom volumes endpoint with a chosen source.project to copy and read other projects' volumes, snapshots, and configuration.

  4. CVE-2026-115375 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus 7.0.0 before 7.0.2 and 7.1.0 before 7.5.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows clients able to create instances to write files on the host. The flaw stems from unvalidated dependent custom volume names in instance backup index.yaml files. Attackers can import a crafted instance backup with ../ sequences in dependent volume names to create root-owned directories with controlled content, leading to full host compromise.

  5. CVE-2026-115374 7.1 Élevée

    lxc incus

Incus 7.0.0 before 7.0.2 and 7.1.0 before 7.5.0 contains a signature verification flaw in its built-in S3 server that allows presigned URL holders to inject unsigned x-amz-* headers. Attackers can add an unsigned X-Amz-Copy-Source header to a presigned upload URL to copy other bucket objects onto the granted key, disclosing their contents and ETags.

  6. CVE-2026-115373 6.3 Moyenne

    lxc incus

Incus before 6.0.7, 6.1.0 before 7.0.2, and 7.1.0 before 7.5.0 contains a missing authorization vulnerability in GET /1.0/operations/{uuid} that lets project-restricted clients read operations in other projects. Attackers holding a restricted certificate and a known operation UUID can retrieve command lines, environment secrets, websocket secrets, and trust enrolment tokens.

  7. CVE-2026-115372 8.5 Élevée

    lxc incus

Incus from 7.3.0 before 7.5.0 contains a project restriction bypass that allows restricted project users to set block.create_options through volume update, copy, and move operations. Attackers can set the option on a custom volume and trigger a copy or move onto a formatting pool to inject arguments into mkfs executed as root.

  8. CVE-2026-115371 7.1 Élevée

    lxc incus

Incus 6.0.3 before 6.0.7, 6.6.0 before 7.0.2, and 7.1.0 before 7.5.0 contains an improper authorization vulnerability that allows restricted TLS clients to read storage bucket keys in the default project. Attackers can query the bucket keys endpoints to obtain S3 access and secret keys, then read, modify or delete objects in those buckets.

  9. CVE-2026-115370 4.3 Moyenne

    lxc incus

Incus 6.0.5 before 6.0.7, 6.12.0 before 7.0.2, and 7.1.0 before 7.5.0 contains a restriction bypass vulnerability that allows restricted project users to use pull mode migration via clustered refresh requests. Attackers with instance creation rights can send a refresh migration request for an existing instance to make the server open outbound TLS websocket connections and probe reachable services.

  10. CVE-2026-52727 7.2 Élevée

    lxc-ci

lxc-ci contains continuous integration and image-build scripts for LXC. Prior to the 2026-05-28 Arch Linux image publication, images built from images/archlinux.yaml retain the same pacman local-signing private key in /etc/pacman.d/gnupg and redistribute it to every container or virtual machine created from that image. An attacker who controls an HTTP package mirror or can intercept mirror traffic can use the shared pacman signing private key to sign modified packages that affected clients accept as trusted. Installing those packages permits arbitrary code execution as root on the client system. This issue is fixed in Arch Linux images published on or after 2026-05-28.

  11. CVE-2026-63343 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.3.0, a malicious image containing a `metadata.yaml` symlink pointing to an arbitrary host path allows an authenticated Incus user to read or overwrite any file on the host as root via the instance metadata API. The `exec-output` and `templates/` paths were patched in a prior release using `Lstat` rejection and `os.OpenRoot` confinement; `metadata.yaml` was not included in either patch and remains exploitable. Version 7.3.0 patches the issue.

  12. CVE-2026-63125 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.3.0, an unprivileged, project-confined Incus user (a non-admin TLS/RBAC identity with `can_create_images` and `can_create_instances`) can execute arbitrary code as root on the host. A crafted image ships `backup.yaml` as a symlink to a host file. When the root daemon writes the instance's backup file, it follows the symlink. Version 7.3.0 patches the issue.

  13. CVE-2026-62941 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.3.0, when copying an instance across projects, the project restriction check (`AllowInstanceCreation`) runs BEFORE the source instance's configuration is merged into the request. Dangerous configuration keys (including `security.privileged`, `raw.lxc`, `raw.apparmor`) from the source instance are merged AFTER the check passes, bypassing all project restrictions on the target project. Version 7.3.0 patches the issue.

  14. CVE-2026-62940 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.3.0, when migrating an instance to another cluster member, user-supplied configuration overrides (including security-critical keys like `security.privileged` and `raw.lxc`) are applied without any project restriction enforcement, allowing a restricted project user to escalate to a privileged container and escape to the host. Version 7.3.0 patches the issue.

  15. CVE-2026-62867 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.3.0, improper validation of user-provided `block.create_options` in storage volume configuration leads to argument injection in the constructed filesystem creation command line. This allows a project-scoped user to inject arbitrary arguments into the binary executed as root. Version 7.3.0 patches the issue.

  16. CVE-2026-62313 4.3 Moyenne

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.3.0, project-level enforcement of `restricted.containers.privilege=isolated` can be trivially bypassed, allowing a user to create a non-isolated (shared host idmap) container in a project that is configured to forbid them. The restriction only rejects an explicitly set `security.idmap.isolated=false` (or empty) and fails to enforce anything when the key is omitted entirely. Because an unset `security.idmap.isolated` defaults to `false` (non-isolation), a user simply leaves the key out and obtains exactly the container state the restriction is meant to forbid. This defeats the tenant-isolation guarantee the restriction exists to provide. Containers in the project share the host uid/gid map instead of receiving unique, non-overlapping ranges, weakening the isolation boundary between co-tenant containers and the host. Version 7.3.0 patches the issue.

  17. CVE-2026-55622 7.7 Élevée

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.2.0, missing authorization checks exist for instance copying where an attacker knowing the name of a project that they don't have access to and the name of an instance in that project can copy the instance to a new project. This issue could allow an attacker to access secrets in instances they are not authorized to access. Version 7.2.0 patches the issue.

  18. CVE-2026-55621 7.7 Élevée

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.2.0, missing authorization checks exist for custom volume copying where an attacker knowing the name of a project that they don't have access to and the name of a custom volume in that project can copy the custom volume to a new project. This issue could allow an attacker to access secrets in custom volumes they are not authorized to access. Version 7.2.0 patches the issue.

  19. CVE-2026-48769 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.2.0, an arbitrary file write exists in the Incus client when a malicious image server returns a crafted `Incus-Image-Hash` header. This can lead to arbitrary command execution as root on the server. Version 7.2.0 patches the issue.

  20. CVE-2026-48756 2.1 Faible

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.1.0, `(*backend).CreateCustomVolumeFromBackup` in `internal/server/storage/backend.go` contains an unguarded `*time.Time` dereference on the `ExpiresAt` field of every volume-snapshot entry in an imported custom-volume backup. An authenticated user with `can_create_storage_volumes` permission on any project can crash the `incusd` daemon by uploading a backup tarball whose `volume_snapshots[*].expires_at` field is absent. This is a sibling-field variant of GHSA-r7w7-mmxr-47r9 (CVE-2026-40197). Commit `985a1dedf9f3e7ba729c93b654905ed510de25c2` added `if s == nil` at the top of the loop body, but did not guard the adjacent `*snapshot.ExpiresAt` deref 19 lines later. Every other consumer of `Config.VolumeSnapshots[i].ExpiresAt` in this same file already gates the deref with a nil-check — the asymmetric guard is the bug. Version 7.1.0 contains an updated patch.

  21. CVE-2026-48755 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.1.0, improper validation of user-provided backup compression algorithm leads to argument injection in the constructed command line. This leads to an arbitrary file write on the host, possibly leading to arbitrary command execution. Version 7.1.0 patches the issue.

  22. CVE-2026-48754 2.1 Faible

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.1.0, `(*backend).createDependentVolumesFromBackup` in `internal/server/storage/backend.go` contains a cluster of unguarded pointer derefs on every dependent-volume entry's `VolumeSnapshots[i]`, `Volume`, and `Pool` sub-fields. An authenticated user with `can_create_instances` permission on any project can crash the `incusd` daemon by uploading an instance backup tarball whose `dependent_volumes[*]` block contains a nil snapshot pointer (or omits `volume:` / `pool:`). This is a sibling-field variant of the 2026-05-04 batch fix `d768f81c0a1d985f35ae56219519822b080bf5e3` ("Properly check dependent volumes on import"). That commit added `if disk == nil` at the top of the outer loop, but did not guard the four sub-pointer fields the loop body dereferences naked. Version 7.1.0 contains an updated patch.

  23. CVE-2026-48753 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.1.0, the S3 protocol upload endpoint is vulnerable to path traversal and allows creation of arbitrary files on the host. This behavior could lead to arbitrary command execution. Version 7.1.0 fixes the issue.

  24. CVE-2026-48752 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.2.0, a specially crafted image or instance backup can be used to read or create/write arbitrary files on the host; possibly leading to arbitrary command execution. Version 7.2.0 patches the issue.

  25. CVE-2026-48751 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.2.0, instance snapshots ignore the `restricted.containers.lowlevel=block` setting; allowing for arbitrary command execution on the Incus server by abusing lowlevel hooks such as `raw.lxc` and `raw.qemu`. Version 7.2.0 patches the issue.

  26. CVE-2026-48750 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.2.0, the `record-output` parameter of the `/instances/$name/exec` endpoint stores the output of the command in the `exec-output` directory of the instance. If `exec-output` is a symlink, file named `exec_UUID.stdout` and `exec_UUID.stderr` can be written to an arbitrary location where the `.stdout` file will contain arbitrary content. This behavior can be abused for arbitrary command execution. Version 7.2.0 contains a patch.

  27. CVE-2026-48749 9.9 Critique

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.2.0, a specially crafted image can be used to read or create/write arbitrary files on the host; possibly leading to arbitrary command execution. Version 7.2.0 fixes the issue.

  28. CVE-2026-47753 4.4 Moyenne

    lxc incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.1.0, `(*backend).CreateInstanceFromBackup` in `internal/server/storage/backend.go` contains a nil-pointer dereference that an authenticated user with permission to create instances in any project can trigger remotely by uploading a crafted backup tarball. The Incus daemon panics and the process crashes, causing denial of service to every project on that cluster member. This is a sibling of `GHSA-fwj8-62r8-8p8m`, `GHSA-r7w7-mmxr-47r9`, and `GHSA-x5r6-jr56-89pv` (all assigned 2026-05-04). Those patches added guards on adjacent fields of the same `backup/config.Config` struct; the `Volume` field on the instance-import path was missed. Version 7.1.0 contains an updated patch.

  29. CVE-2026-72842 9.9 Critique

    openwrt luci

luci-app-lxc contains an ACL inconsistency vulnerability that allows low-privileged authenticated LuCI users to access backend container management routes without proper authorization checks. Attackers can exploit path traversal via `/.%2E` in the `lxc_name` parameter to escape container directories and control host-side scripts executed through `lxc.hook.start-host`, achieving root code execution on the OpenWrt host.

  30. CVE-2026-73519 9.8 Critique

    wolfsoftwaresystemsltd WolfStack

WolfStack before 25.9.2 contains a hard-coded cluster-authentication secret compiled into every build and published as a constant in src/auth/mod.rs, allowing remote unauthenticated attackers to bypass authentication by supplying this value in the X-WolfStack-Secret header to the require_auth() gate without any session, API key, or user account. Attackers can reach an affected node's management port to enumerate all Docker and LXC containers on the host and execute arbitrary commands as root inside any container via the POST /api/containers/{runtime}/{id}/exec endpoint.

  31. CVE-2026-63298 9.9 Critique

    Canonical LXD

An improper neutralization of special elements vulnerability in LXD's NVIDIA instance configuration handling allows an authenticated attacker to inject arbitrary configuration directives. By supplying newline characters within the 'nvidia.driver.capabilities' or 'nvidia.require.*' configuration values, an attacker can manipulate the generated lxc.conf file. This flaw enables the attacker to execute arbitrary code on the host system with the privileges of the LXD daemon.

  32. CVE-2026-16793 8.8 Élevée

    Lenovo XClarity Orchestrator

An improper neutralization of special elements used in an operating system command vulnerability was reported in Lenovo XClarity Orchestrator (LXCO) 2.2.0 that could allow an authenticated attacker to execute arbitrary operating system commands as a privileged user under a specific circumstance.

  33. CVE-2026-16792 6.1 Moyenne

    Lenovo XClarity Orchestrator

An improper certificate validation vulnerability was reported in multiple Lenovo XClarity Orchestrator (LXCO) 2.2.0 microservices that could allow an adjacent network attacker to intercept sensitive communications by performing a machine-in-the-middle attack against HTTPS connections during TLS certificate validation under certain circumstances.

  34. CVE-2026-41685 4.3 Moyenne

    lxc incus · Linuxcontainers incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.0.0, uploads of large amount of data by authenticated users can run the Incus server out of disk space, potentially taking down the host system. The impact here is limited for anyone using storage.images_volume and storage.backups_volume as those users will have large uploads be stored on those volumes rather than directly on the host filesystem. This is the default behavior on IncusOS. This issue has been patched in version 7.0.0.

  35. CVE-2026-41684 6.5 Moyenne

    lxc incus · Linuxcontainers incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.0.0, backup.GetInfo() trusts the inline backup/index.yaml config when present and only falls back to parsing the legacy backup/container/backup.yaml file if result.Config == nil. As a result, an archive can carry a valid inline config that passes the initial import preflight while also carrying a malformed legacy backup/container/backup.yaml file that is reparsed later from the restored file system. ParseConfigYamlFile() accepts YAML documents with no container section, and multiple downstream consumers then dereference. Container without checking for nil. Confirmed examples in the instance restore and import flow include backup.UpdateInstanceConfig() and internalImportFromBackup(). An authenticated user with permission to import instance backups may be able to crash the Incus daemon with a crafted backup archive whose inline backup/index.yaml is valid but whose extracted legacy backup.yaml omits container. The crash occurs in the restore path after archive extraction has begun. This issue has been patched in version 7.0.0.

  36. CVE-2026-41648 5.0 Moyenne

    lxc incus · Linuxcontainers incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.0.0, user provided image and backup tarballs would be unpacked and YAML files parsed without any size restrictions. This was making it easy for an authenticated user to provide a crafted image or backup tarball that when parsed by Incus would lead to a very large YAML document being loaded into memory, potentially causing the entire server to run out of memory. This issue has been patched in version 7.0.0.

  37. CVE-2026-41647 6.5 Moyenne

    lxc incus · Linuxcontainers incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. Prior to version 7.0.0, a missing error handling could lead an authenticated Incus user to cause a daemon crash through the import of a truncated storage bucket backup file. This issue has been patched in version 7.0.0.

  38. CVE-2026-40251 6.5 Moyenne

    lxc incus · Linuxcontainers incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. In versions before 7.0.0, missing validation logic in the storage volume import logic allows an authenticated user with access to the storage volume feature to cause the Incus daemon to crash. The backup restore subsystem contains an out-of-bounds panic vulnerability caused by an invalid bounds check when indexing snapshot metadata arrays, and the same flawed pattern also appears in the migration path. When iterating through physical snapshots provided in a backup archive, the loop uses the index to look up corresponding metadata in the parsed `Config.Snapshots` and `Config.VolumeSnapshots` slices. The guard condition `len(slice) >= i-1` is incorrect because it can still evaluate to true when the subsequent slice[i] access is out of bounds. An attacker can submit a backup archive that contains physical snapshot directories while supplying a tampered `index.yaml` with an empty or truncated snapshot metadata array, causing the daemon to index beyond the end of the metadata slice and crash. Repeated use of this issue can be used to keep Incus offline, causing a denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 7.0.0.

  39. CVE-2026-40243 4.8 Moyenne

    lxc incus · Linuxcontainers incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. In versions before 7.0.0, broken TLS validation logic in the OVN database connection logic can allow connections to an attacker's OVN database. The OVN client implementations disable Go standard TLS server verification and replace it with custom peer-certificate verification logic. That replacement verifier does not anchor trust in the configured CA certificate. Instead, it constructs the verification root set from certificates supplied by the peer during the handshake, so the configured CA is parsed but not used as the trust anchor for the final verification decision. In OVN-enabled deployments that use these SSL database connection paths, an attacker able to impersonate or intercept the OVN endpoint on the management network can present a rogue self-signed certificate chain, and Incus will accept this certificate as valid. This issue defeats the intended CA-based trust model for OVN database connections and permits endpoint impersonation by an active attacker in a suitable network position. This issue is fixed in version 7.0.0.

  40. CVE-2026-40197 6.5 Moyenne

    lxc incus · Linuxcontainers incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. In versions before 7.0.0, missing validation logic in the storage volume import logic allows an authenticated user with access to the storage volume feature to cause the Incus daemon to crash. The custom volume backup import subsystem contains a nil-pointer dereference vulnerability during import operations. In the snapshot import loop, the daemon iterates over entries from `srcBackup.Config.VolumeSnapshots` and assumes that each slice element is initialized, then dereferences fields such as `Name`, `Config`, `Description`, `CreatedAt`, and `ExpiresAt` without first validating the element itself. Because the yaml unmarshaler accepts explicit null array elements from an attacker-controlled index.yaml and converts them into nil pointers inside the slice, an attacker can supply a backup archive containing a null entry in the volume_snapshots array. This causes a nil-pointer dereference during custom volume import and terminates the daemon, resulting in denial of service on the affected node. Repeated use of this issue can be used to keep Incus offline, causing a denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 7.0.0.

  41. CVE-2026-40195 6.5 Moyenne

    lxc incus · Linuxcontainers incus

Incus is a system container and virtual machine manager. In versions before 7.0.0, missing validation logic in the storage bucket import logic allows an authenticated user with access to the storage bucket feature to cause the Incus daemon to crash. The vulnerability is present in the backup metadata handling logic, where the daemon processes the index.yaml file from an imported archive and accesses members of the parsed backup configuration without first verifying that the configuration object was initialized. A malicious or malformed index.yaml that omits the config block causes a nil-pointer dereference during bucket import operations and terminates the daemon. Repeated use of this issue can be used to keep Incus offline, causing a denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 7.0.0.

  42. CVE-2026-39402 6.5 Moyenne

    lxc · Linuxcontainers lxc

lxc is a Linux container runtime. In the setuid helper lxc-user-nic, the delete path contains a logic flaw in the find_line() function that allows an unprivileged user to delete OVS-attached network interfaces belonging to other users. When lxc-user-nic delete scans its NIC database to authorize a deletion request, the interface name comparison can set the authorization flag based on a name match alone, even when the ownership, type, and link fields in that database entry belong to a different user. The vulnerable check sits after the goto next label handling, meaning it is reachable on lines where earlier ownership checks failed or were skipped. Because nothing downstream of this authorization signal re-verifies that the matched database line actually belongs to the caller, an unprivileged attacker with a valid lxc-usernet policy entry can trigger deletion of another user's OVS port on the same bridge. This is limited to multi-tenant environments using lxc-user-nic with OpenVSwitch bridges. The impact is denial of service - one tenant can repeatedly disconnect networking from containers run by another tenant on shared infrastructure. This is patched in version 7.0.0.

  43. CVE-2026-35527 5.0 Moyenne

    lxc incus · Linuxcontainers incus

Incus is an open source container and virtual machine manager. In versions prior to 7.0.0, the image import flow issues an outbound HEAD request to a user-supplied URL before validating the request against project restrictions such as restricted.images.servers. The imgPostURLInfo function constructs and sends a HEAD request directly from the attacker-supplied source URL to resolve image metadata, and this network interaction occurs before the flow reaches the point where the import would be rejected by policy. Although the actual image download is blocked by the project restriction, an authenticated user can coerce the daemon into making blind HEAD requests to arbitrary destinations. These requests include server metadata in custom headers (Incus-Server-Architectures, Incus-Server-Version), which discloses information about the host environment to the attacker-controlled endpoint. This blind SSRF primitive can be used to probe internal services, unroutable address space, or cloud metadata endpoints reachable from the host. This vulnerability pattern is similar to CVE-2026-24767. This issue has been fixed in version 7.0.0.
