  1. CVE-2026-102682 5.6 Moyenne

    pipecat-ai pipecat

Pipecat is an open-source Python framework for building real-time voice and multimodal conversational agents. From 0.0.98 until 1.6.0, the pipecat-ai package's built-in development runner exposes unauthenticated endpoints including /start, /daily, and /daily-dialin-webhook that can create bot sessions and Daily rooms. The runner binds to localhost by default and is intended only for local development, so exploitation requires an operator to expose it to untrusted traffic through --host 0.0.0.0, a published port, or a tunnel without access controls. An unauthenticated caller can consume local resources and third-party quotas and, depending on configuration, receive a room URL and join token. Version 1.6.0 adds a prominent development-runner banner and documentation that clarifies the unauthenticated boundary and directs production deployments to an authenticated dispatcher or managed runtime, while the endpoint behavior remains by design. This issue is fixed in version 1.6.0.

  2. CVE-2026-54695 6.5 Moyenne

    pipecat-ai pipecat · Pipecat pipecat

Pipecat is an open-source Python framework for building real-time voice and multimodal conversational agents. Prior to 1.4.0, the pipecat development runner registers a /ws WebSocket endpoint for telephony testing that accepts connections without authentication, reads an attacker-supplied callSid from a Twilio stream-start handshake in src/pipecat/runner/utils.py, and passes it to TwilioFrameSerializer so the server can issue an authenticated Twilio REST API hang-up request with the server operator's credentials; equivalent unauthenticated call-control sinks exist for Telnyx and Plivo. This issue is fixed in version 1.4.0.

  3. CVE-2026-44716 7.5 Élevée

    pipecat-ai pipecat · Pipecat pipecat

Pipecat is an open-source Python framework for building real-time voice and multimodal conversational agents. From version 0.0.90 to before version 1.2.0, a path traversal vulnerability exists in Pipecat's development runner (src/pipecat/runner/run.py). When the runner is started with the --folder flag, it exposes a GET /files/{filename:path} download endpoint. The filename path parameter is concatenated directly onto args.folder with no containment check. Starlette normalises literal ../ sequences in URLs, but %2F-encoded slashes bypass this normalisation: the path parameter is URL-decoded after routing, so ..%2F..%2Fetc%2Fpasswd resolves to a path two levels above args.folder. An attacker with network access to the runner can read any file the pipecat process has permission to access — including SSH private keys, credentials, and system files — with a single unauthenticated HTTP request. This issue has been patched in version 1.2.0.
