CVE-2026-102904 5.4 Moyenne
jupyterlab
JupyterLab is an extensible environment for interactive and reproducible computing, based on the Jupyter Notebook Architecture. From JupyterLab 4.0.0 until 4.5.11 and 4.6.4, the PyPI Extension Manager uninstall request reaches ExtensionHandler.post, which validates extension names for installation but passes uninstall names to PyPIExtensionManager.uninstall and python -m pip uninstall without rejecting option-like values. The security impact requires that the PyPI Extension Manager is enabled, the account can call the extension API, and kernels and terminals are disabled or delegated to remote hosts; otherwise the user can already read files and make outbound requests directly. An authenticated user with extension API access can supply a pip requirements option to make the server read a local file or fetch an internal URL, and reflected parse errors can return the first unparsable line or response content. A pip log option can also create or corrupt a chosen path with pip-generated log text, but the requester cannot select an arbitrary disclosed line or arbitrary file content, and the injection does not add code execution or availability impact beyond ordinary package removal. This issue is fixed in JupyterLab 4.5.11 and 4.6.4.

CVE-2026-102830 6.8 Moyenne
jupyterlab · jupyterlab jupyterlite-core
JupyterLab is an extensible environment for interactive and reproducible computing, based on the Jupyter Notebook Architecture. From JupyterLab 3.0.0 until 4.5.11 and 4.6.4, and in JupyterLite Core 0.8.3 and earlier, the Plural-Forms header in a selected third-party language pack can append JavaScript after a valid plural rule because prefix-only regular-expression validation accepts a matching prefix without requiring the entire header to match. JupyterLab passes the accepted expression to new Function, so loading the catalogue and translating a plural string executes the appended code in the authenticated JupyterLab origin. Where Jupyter Server kernels, terminals, and APIs are exposed, the code can use authenticated server APIs to read or modify files and run code. Impact is much more limited in JupyterLite because it typically lacks most exposed Jupyter Server surfaces. The default English locale is unaffected because it does not load a translation catalogue. This issue is fixed in JupyterLab 4.5.11 and 4.6.4 and JupyterLite Core 0.8.4.

CVE-2026-102757 8.5 Élevée
Eclipse Foundation ThreadX
An unprivileged, memory-protected ThreadX module can have the kernel read and write memory at addresses of its choosing, in privileged mode, and can use that to clear the MPU enable bit and remove its own isolation boundary. The Module Manager decided whether a privileged service could dereference an object address a module named by asking only whether that address fell outside the module. The manager's object pool is outside every module, so the test was satisfied by an address shifted into the interior of one of the module's own privileged allocations, which denotes no object at all. The bytes such an address presents as a control block are bytes the module put there through ordinary create and set services, so the control block ID at the front of them could be made to read as any type the module chose, and the `_txe_` layer's ID test then agreed. The reported chain uses that to reach a privileged `memset` across an attacker-chosen range.

CVE-2026-102710 9.3 Critique
Eclipse Foundation eclipse-threadx/threadx
Attacker model / Preconditions: a loaded `TXM_MODULE_USER_MODE | TXM_MODULE_MEMORY_PROTECTION` module issuing kernel dispatch calls, on a build with `TX_ENABLE_EVENT_TRACE`. A user-mode, memory-protected module can register an arbitrary function pointer as the global trace-full callback. The kernel calls it directly — no validation, no trampoline — from privileged kernel code when the trace buffer wraps. An invalid pointer faults the kernel (DoS). A pointer into the module's own code was observed running with kernel privilege (`CONTROL.nPRIV = 0`), confirmed at runtime with a register capture inside that code.

CVE-2026-98164 5.5 Moyenne
Linux · Linux linux kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: KVM: x86/mmu: Check write tracking in all address spaces kvm_gfn_is_write_tracked() checks only the supplied memslot, but page tracking is per-address-space and shadow pages are shared across all address spaces. With SMM, a GFN can therefore be write-tracked in one address space and appear untracked through the other. Check the supplied slot first, then the slot for the other address space. This ensures all callers honor write tracking regardless of the active address space. In particular, it prevents mmu_try_to_unsync_pages() from marking an upper-level shadow page unsync and eventually triggering the BUG in pte_list_remove(). CVE-2026-18417 6.5 Moyenne
zephyrproject zephyr
The native BSD-socket layer recorded a pending asynchronous socket error by type-punning it into struct net_context's void user_data field (ctx->user_data = INT_TO_POINTER(-status) in zsock_accepted_cb(), zsock_received_cb(), zsock_connected_cb() and zsock_close_ctx() in subsys/net/lib/sockets/sockets_inet.c), reading it back with POINTER_TO_INT(). That same field is owned by the network stack for listening TCP contexts: net_tcp_accept() stores the parent context pointer there and the TCP core passes it back to the registered accept callback. A failed accept therefore left a small integer (an errno value) where the stack expected a struct net_context . When the network interface carrying a listening TCP socket goes down, close_tcp_conn() in subsys/net/ip/tcp.c invokes the accept callback with -ENETDOWN and the context's user_data. In v4.3.0 the callback was not disarmed afterwards, so a second interface-down event forwarded the previously stored errno to zsock_accepted_cb(), which dereferenced it as the parent context and performed several stores through it (sock_set_error()'s read-modify-write of socket_data, k_fifo_cancel_wait(&parent->recv_q)) — the crash described in the fix's commit message. v4.3.1 and v4.4.x carry a later change clearing conn->accept_cb after the error callback (269cb8823d3 on the v4.3 branch, 913fae5169425550f2364655298fceb79b320066 on main), which closes that repeat path; on those releases the poisoned cookie remains reachable only by a narrower race, a handshake completing alongside the interface-down still passing the stale cookie to k_fifo_put(&parent->accept_q, ...), and by getsockopt(SO_ERROR), which reads the field back unconditionally. On v4.3.0 an application that keeps a listening TCP socket open across repeated link-down events is sufficient to reach the defect; the triggering condition is a network-interface state change, not attacker-supplied packet data, so the practical attacker is one able to force the link down repeatedly (for example an adjacent attacker disrupting a wireless link) or one with local/physical access. Because both the faulting address and the stored data are fixed small constants derived from the errno value, the outcome is a wild-pointer access leading to a kernel fatal error — a denial of service (device crash or reset) rather than an attacker-directed memory corruption. The fix stores the pending error in a dedicated net_context.sock_error field and converts every producer and consumer to sock_set_error()/sock_get_error(), leaving user_data untouched. As a side effect it also stops getsockopt(SO_ERROR) — which is evaluated unconditionally — from returning the kernel address held in user_data to a userspace application.

CVE-2026-18415 6.3 Moyenne
zephyrproject zephyr
ieee802154_send() in subsys/net/l2/ieee802154/ieee802154.c copies the outgoing packet into a single fixed 125-byte transmit buffer (tx_frame_buf_pool, sized IEEE802154_MTU). In builds with CONFIG_NET_L2_IEEE802154_FRAGMENT enabled (the default whenever CONFIG_NET_6LO is set), the branch taken when 6LoWPAN fragmentation is not required performed an unchecked net_buf_add_mem(frame_buf, pkt_buf->data, pkt_buf->len). The only guard was __ASSERT_NO_MSG() inside net_buf_simple_add(), which is compiled out without CONFIG_ASSERT, so an oversized packet silently overran the frame buffer. The defect is not reachable from the radio: for NET_AF_INET6 packets ieee802154_6lo_encode_pkt() compares the whole packet length against IEEE802154_MTU and takes the fragmentation path when it does not fit, so every buffer copied on the unfragmented branch is within bounds. It is reachable through NET_AF_PACKET sockets bound to an 802.15.4 interface: for NET_SOCK_RAW the 6LoWPAN block is skipped entirely and for NET_SOCK_DGRAM it returns early on the address-family test, leaving no length validation anywhere on the transmit path (net_context_sendto() and net_if_tx() apply none, and pkt_buffer_length() does not clamp the allocation for this L2). An application — or, in a CONFIG_USERSPACE build, an unprivileged application thread using the zsock_socket()/zsock_sendto() syscalls — can therefore drive a supervisor-mode out-of-bounds write of chosen bytes past the 125-byte pool buffer. With the default CONFIG_NET_BUF_FIXED_DATA_SIZE of 128 bytes the overrun is bounded to roughly ll_hdr_len + 3 bytes; with CONFIG_NET_BUF_VARIABLE_DATA_SIZE a single storage buffer can be as large as CONFIG_NET_PKT_BUF_TX_DATA_POOL_SIZE, making the overrun far larger. The consequence is corruption of memory adjacent to the pool, with a crash or further compromise of kernel state as the practical impact. The fix validates ll_hdr_len + net_pkt_get_len(pkt) + authtag_len against IEEE802154_MTU before any copy and adds a tailroom-checking copy_pkt_to_frame() helper that returns -EMSGSIZE instead of overrunning the buffer. The same change also linearizes the whole net_buf chain into one MAC frame, so packet storage boundaries no longer become frame boundaries on the wire.

CVE-2026-18414 7.8 Élevée
zephyrproject zephyr
The ADC API requires each driver to reject a sampling sequence whose destination buffer is too small: the buffer_size field of struct adc_sequence in include/zephyr/drivers/adc.h documents that "the driver must ensure that samples are not written beyond the limit and it must return an error if the buffer turns out to be not large enough". The ADI MAX32 driver did not honour that contract. start_read() in drivers/adc/adc_max32.c compared buffer_size, a byte count, against a sample count ((1 + extra_samplings) channels), ignoring sizeof(uint16_t), so it accepted a buffer half the required size. The samples are then stored through the uint16_t data->buffer by Wrap_MXC_ADC_GetData(), which writes two bytes per sample and advances the pointer by one uint16_t: in adc_max32_start_channel() for synchronous reads, and in adc_max32_isr() for asynchronous ones. A sequence selecting two channels with a two-byte buffer, for example, passes the check and has its second sample written past the end of the buffer. On a build with CONFIG_USERSPACE, adc_read() and adc_read_async() are system calls. The handler in drivers/adc/adc_handlers.c copies the sequence in from user memory, verifies only that [buffer, buffer + buffer_size) is writable by the calling thread, and rejects a user-supplied options->callback; it deliberately leaves the size arithmetic to the driver. A user-mode thread that has been granted access to a MAX32 ADC device object therefore fully controls channels, buffer, buffer_size and options->extra_samplings, and can make the driver write twice as many bytes as its buffer holds. Because the check scales with extra_samplings, the overrun equals the length of the buffer itself, up to channels * 65536 bytes past its end, since the sample pointer is only rewound on a repeat sampling, never on the extra samplings of a sequence. The resulting stores are performed by the driver in kernel mode (in the system call itself, the ADC context timer, or the ADC interrupt handler for asynchronous reads), where the MPU does not restrict the thread's memory domain, so the write walks linearly out of the user partition and into adjacent memory such as other partitions, kernel data or thread stacks. The impact is kernel-memory corruption of attacker-chosen length at an attacker-chosen offset, a plausible privilege-escalation and denial-of-service primitive from an unprivileged user-mode thread. Builds without CONFIG_USERSPACE are affected only as a caller-side robustness defect, since the application itself supplies the buffer. The fix replaces that check in start_read() with a call to the new shared helper adc_sequence_validate_buffer() in drivers/adc/adc_common.c, passing sizeof(uint16_t) as the sample size. The helper computes active_channels sizeof(uint16_t) (1 + extra_samplings) and returns -ENOMEM before any sampling is started.

CVE-2026-18413 7.8 Élevée

The ADC API requires each driver to reject a sampling sequence whose destination buffer is too small: the buffer_size field of struct adc_sequence in include/zephyr/drivers/adc.h documents that "the driver must ensure that samples are not written beyond the limit and it must return an error if the buffer turns out to be not large enough". The NXP MCUX LPADC driver did not honour that contract. mcux_lpadc_start_read() in drivers/adc/adc_mcux_lpadc.c performed no buffer-size check at all before assigning data->buffer = sequence->buffer. Each completed conversion then stores one 16-bit sample per enabled channel per sampling round through an unbounded *data->buffer++: in mcux_lpadc_isr() for interrupt-driven builds, and in mcux_lpadc_dma_callback() for DMA-driven builds on releases that have the DMA path. A sequence selecting two channels with a two-byte buffer, for example, has its second sample written past the end of the buffer. A user-mode thread that has been granted access to an LPADC device object therefore fully controls channels, buffer, buffer_size and options->extra_samplings, and can request far more samples than its buffer can hold: up to channels * 65536 samples into a two-byte buffer, since the sample pointer is only rewound on a repeat sampling, never on the extra samplings of a sequence. The resulting stores are performed by the driver in kernel mode (in the ADC interrupt handler or the DMA completion callback), where the MPU does not restrict the thread's memory domain, so the write walks linearly out of the user partition and into adjacent memory such as other partitions, kernel data or thread stacks. CVE-2026-16513 7.8 Élevée
zephyrproject zephyr
The userspace verifier z_vrfy_rtio_sqe_copy_in_get_handles() in subsys/rtio/rtio_syscalls.c (subsys/rtio/rtio_handlers.c before v4.3.0) validated the RTIO object handle and the sqes input array, but not the handle out-parameter. On the first loop iteration it executed *handle = sqe, storing the kernel address of the newly acquired submission-queue entry through a pointer taken verbatim from user mode, with no K_SYSCALL_MEMORY_WRITE check in front of it. Any user-mode thread that has been granted a struct rtio kernel object can invoke the syscall with an arbitrary address in handle. That is the ordinary way an unprivileged thread uses the RTIO API, for example via sensor_read_async_mempool() or the async ADC helpers, which call rtio_sqe_copy_in_get_handles() internally. The store happens in supervisor mode before any submission-entry validation, so it fires regardless of whether the SQE contents are subsequently rejected. Only builds with CONFIG_USERSPACE and CONFIG_RTIO are affected; without CONFIG_USERSPACE the verifier is not compiled and the caller is already privileged. The write address is fully attacker-chosen and the written value is a pointer into the caller's own RTIO ring, whose contents the caller controls (the following *sqe = sqes[i] copies an attacker-supplied struct rtio_sqe into that slot). This yields a write-what-where primitive placing a pointer to attacker-controlled data at any kernel address, sufficient to corrupt kernel function pointers, thread structures, or memory-domain partition tables, and thus to escalate from user mode to kernel mode, defeating the isolation boundary CONFIG_USERSPACE is meant to enforce. At minimum it is a reliable kernel memory-corruption and crash primitive. The reporter reproduced the write on qemu_x86: a K_USER thread changed a supervisor global from NULL to a live kernel SQE pointer. The fix adds K_SYSCALL_MEMORY_WRITE(handle, sizeof(*handle)) (guarded by the existing optional-NULL semantics) before the loop, so the destination must lie in the calling thread's writable memory domain or the thread is terminated by K_OOPS. The neighbouring verifier z_vrfy_rtio_cqe_get_mempool_buffer(), which checked its buff/buff_len out-parameters only for read although the implementation writes through them, was hardened separately by bea93400138 ("rtio: syscalls: validate output params as writable"); that residual was materially weaker, since a read check still confines the target to the caller's own memory domain.

CVE-2026-101894 9.1 Critique
XhmikosR decompress · kevva decompress
The decompress package for Node.js extracts archives. Prior to 10.2.2 and 11.1.4, the default decompress(input, output) API relies on lexical containment checks that do not account for the kernel following a planted symlink chain. An attacker can supply a crafted archive containing chained symlink entries so that a later entry resolves outside the output directory. This allows files outside output to be read or written, and overwriting startup scripts or configuration can lead to remote code execution. The maintained @xhmikosr/decompress package is fixed in 10.2.2 and 11.1.4, but the separately affected unmaintained decompress package remains unpatched through 4.2.1. This vulnerability results from a bypass of the incomplete hardening for CVE-2026-53486. @xhmikosr/decompress is fixed in versions 10.2.2 and 11.1.4.

CVE-2026-100839 8.4 Élevée
edgelesssys contrast
Contrast is a confidential-computing runtime for Kubernetes. In versions before 1.18.0, the guest kernel's ACPI/AML handling is vulnerable to an AML injection attack ("BadAML"). ACPI tables containing AML bytecode are passed from the untrusted host (QEMU) to the guest firmware (OVMF) and on to the Linux kernel, whose AML interpreter executes them. An attacker controlling the host — an assumed adversary in Contrast's threat model — can craft a table with malicious, Turing-complete AML bytecode that the guest kernel interprets with access to the full guest memory, including private pages, resulting in arbitrary code execution and disclosure or modification of confidential guest data. The issue affects the AMD SEV-SNP platforms Metal-QEMU-SNP and Metal-QEMU-SNP-GPU; Metal-QEMU-TDX is not affected because ACPI table contents are measured into RTMR 0 by OVMF on Intel TDX. Version v1.18.0 mitigates the attack by sandboxing the kernel AML interpreter so that it cannot read or write private memory pages. This weakness is not specific to Contrast but is generic to Confidential Computing setups that expose the ACPI interface to the host.

CVE-2026-100646 8.1 Élevée
siyuan-note siyuan
SiYuan is a self-hosted personal knowledge management system. In versions up to and including 3.8.3, the kernel's authentication guards (CheckAuth in kernel/model/session.go and IsSessionOriginAllowed in kernel/util/net.go) fail open when the HTTP Origin header is absent, on the incorrect assumption that any browser-initiated cross-site request carries an Origin. Because browsers omit Origin on cross-site top-level GET navigations and no-cors GET subresource loads — and the session cookie is SameSite=Lax — a single cross-site GET issued from any attacker-controlled web page is granted RoleAdministrator, both on default installations with no access-authorization code and on password-protected instances with a live session. Combined with content-type sniffing on the /api/network/proxy endpoint, which allows attacker-controlled HTML to be served under SiYuan's own origin, this permits an unauthenticated remote attacker to execute arbitrary script in the SiYuan origin (http://127.0.0.1:6806), invoke administrator APIs, and exfiltrate the persistent kernel API token. This issue is fixed in version 3.8.4.

CVE-2026-100634 4.7 Moyenne
siyuan-note siyuan
SiYuan before v3.8.4 does not validate the sender or restrict recipients in the 'siyuan-send-windows' IPC handler of the Electron main process (app/electron/main.js). The handler ignores event.sender and forwards any received payload to every BrowserWindow returned by BrowserWindow.getAllWindows(), including windows belonging to other opened workspaces. A renderer connected to an attacker-controlled remote kernel can therefore send {cmd: "lockscreenByMode"} and have it delivered across the workspace boundary; a sibling workspace window whose lockScreenMode is set to 1 invokes lockScreen(). Repeated messages allow the remote workspace to repeatedly lock unrelated local workspace windows, causing a limited denial of service. No confidentiality, integrity, or code-execution impact was observed.

CVE-2026-100633 6.5 Moyenne
siyuan-note siyuan
SiYuan is a self-hosted personal knowledge management system. In versions 3.8.0 through 3.8.3, the MCP file tool's sensitive-path guard (util.IsForbiddenAbsPath(), invoked from resolvePath()) is applied only to the allowed root of recursive operations and not to each resolved descendant path — an incomplete fix for GHSA-c8r8-95hg-mp34. An authenticated administrator using the in-app Agent or the external MCP server can therefore bypass the protected-workspace-file denylist: file.grep can return matching lines from non-hidden protected descendants (for example conf/conf.json, TLS keys, data/snippets/conf.json, data/templates/, data/.siyuan/publishAccess.json, notebook .siyuan internals, or the kernel log), file.copy can copy protected descendants to an ordinary path where file.read can then retrieve them, and unzip can overwrite protected descendants using ordinary, lexically contained ZIP member names. Because file.grep is globally classified as a safe action, it receives no per-call confirmation, and the confirmation cards for file.copy and unzip show only the allowed root arguments. This issue is fixed in version 3.8.4. Suggested title: SiYuan 3.8.0 through 3.8.3 Sensitive-Path Guard Bypass in Recursive MCP File Operations.

CVE-2026-98163 7.0 Élevée
Linux · Linux linux kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: cgroup: Avoid iteration of dying tasks with zero refcount The commit 260fbcb92bbea ("cgroup: Move dying_tasks cleanup from cgroup_task_release() to cgroup_task_free()") extended the lifetime of tasks on the dying_tasks list. The iterators have provision to go through dying_tasks because of dying threadgroup leaders or explicit CSS_TASK_ITER_WITH_DEAD, however, it was expected that such tasks can obtain a new reference (that is possible before cgroup_task_release()/put_task_struct_rcu_user()). The tasks after cgroup_task_release() and before cgroup_task_free() are subject to race when they may or may not have ->usage count > 0. The race window is between css_task_iter_next() invocations when css_set_lock is released and we may arrive at a new ->task_pos. The iterator should not attempt to resurrect tasks whose ->usage count dropped to zero. (When that happens, __put_task_struct_rcu_cb() is already imminent and the returned task_struct would could be used after free.) As for the fix, we cannot simply check the signal->live count of a task on the dying list because that won't distinguish regular zombies waiting to be reaped from RCU remnant tasks that are going to be free'd. CVE-2026-93366 5.4 Moyenne
Bludit CMS
Bludit CMS through 3.22.0 contains an authorization bypass vulnerability that allows authenticated users with the Author role to enumerate and delete media files belonging to pages owned by other users, including administrators, by supplying arbitrary uuid parameters to unprotected AJAX endpoints. Attackers can retrieve page UUIDs for all users via the content-get-list endpoint and then submit crafted POST requests to the list-images and delete-image endpoints in bl-kernel/ajax/ to access and destroy media files outside their own pages, bypassing the IMAGE_RESTRICT isolation control.

Bludit CMS
Bludit CMS through 3.22.0 contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows authenticated users holding the Author or Editor role to read the full content of private drafts and scheduled posts belonging to any other user, including administrators, by exploiting the content-get-list AJAX endpoint in bl-kernel/ajax/content-get-list.php. Attackers can send an authenticated GET request to the admin AJAX endpoint with the draft parameter set to true, triggering getList() without ownership constraints and returning serialized page objects site-wide, exposing pre-publication material and sensitive notes stored in administrator-owned drafts.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: nvdimm: pmem: keep PREFLUSH before data writes pmem_submit_bio() records a REQ_PREFLUSH error, but continues to copy the bio data and can later overwrite the error with a successful REQ_FUA flush. That lets data writes run after a failed preflush and can complete the bio successfully despite the failed ordering barrier. Run the REQ_PREFLUSH flush synchronously before touching the bio data and complete the bio with the flush error if it fails. Keep asynchronous flush chaining for REQ_FUA. At that point, data copy has completed and the parent bio can wait for the chained flush bio.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix mismatched free of HalData in rtw_sdio_if1_init() padapter->HalData is allocated via vzalloc(), but incorrectly freed using kfree() in the rtw_sdio_if1_init() error path. Using kfree() to release this vmalloc-backed buffer can lead to memory corruption. Use rtw_hal_data_deinit() to pair the free correctly and free HalData with vfree(). The bug was first flagged by an experimental static analysis tool we are developing for kernel memory-management bugs. Manual inspection confirms that the issue is still present in current mainline. An x86_64 allyesconfig build showed no new warnings. As we do not have suitable RTL8723BS SDIO hardware to test with, no runtime testing was able to be performed.

CVE-2026-100076 5.5 Moyenne
Linux · Linux linux kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: rtl8723bs: fix xmit_frame/xmit_buf leaks on mgnt-frame error paths issue_beacon(), issue_probersp() and issue_asocrsp() obtain a management xmit_frame together with its xmit_buf from the driver's fixed-size management-TX pools via alloc_mgtxmitframe(). On the normal path the frame is handed to dump_mgntframe(), which transfers ownership and eventually returns both objects to their pools (the frame and, for beacons, the buf in rtl8723bs_mgnt_xmit(); other bufs via the pending-xmitbuf/TX-completion path). Several error/edge paths return early after a successful alloc_mgtxmitframe() but before dump_mgntframe(), so ownership is never transferred and neither object is freed: - issue_beacon(): beacon larger than 512 bytes - issue_probersp(): cur_network->ie_length > MAX_IE_SZ - issue_probersp(): kzalloc() of the SSID scratch buffer fails - issue_asocrsp(): pkt_type is neither ASSOCRSP nor REASSOCRSP Because alloc_mgtxmitframe() removes the frame and buf from their free lists (list_del_init) without placing them on any pending list, an orphaned pair is on no list and referenced by nobody, so it is only reclaimed at driver teardown. Repeated hits progressively exhaust the management-TX pools until alloc_mgtxmitframe() returns NULL and the interface can no longer send beacons or probe/assoc responses. Free the frame and buffer on these paths, matching the existing correct error handling in issue_assocreq().

Linux · Linux linux kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: fix transaction overflow during writeback Commit 95ad8ee45cdb ("ext4: correct the reserved credits for extent conversion") was correct to note that we need to reserve enough credits for all extents possibly underlying a large folio. However it was too eager to reduce the number of reserved credits. Extent conversion may not only need to touch several leaf extent blocks, it may also need to split extents - for example a single large unwritten extent may need to be split into many small written ones in case of sparse folio dirtying. This can thus result not only in extent leaf modifications but also in a need to allocate new extent tree nodes. As a result the reserved transaction credits were not sufficient in some corner cases. Use ext4_meta_trans_blocks() for correct upper bound credit estimate.

It is also inefficient because acpi_get_first_physical_node() is called multiple times for the same argument which can be avoided. Address these issues by using acpi_bus_get_primary_device() instead of acpi_get_first_physical_node() and adjusting the code to call it just once at the beginning of and acpi_create_platform_device() and drop the device reference acquired by it upon the return from that function.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: hsr: free learned nodes on device setup failure hsr_dev_finalize() can fail after a lower-device RX handler has already been registered (slave A is added before the failable slave B and interlink adds). RX handlers run in softirq regardless of the master's state, so frames received in that window can learn dynamic nodes into node_db, and the error unwind never releases them. Free both owned dynamic databases in the unwind, mirroring hsr_dellink(). proxy_node_db is provably empty on every current error exit (only interlink RX feeds it, and the interlink add is the last failable step) and is freed for symmetry. The order is safe: hsr_del_port() unregisters each RX handler with synchronize_net() before hsr_del_nodes() runs, which removes remaining entries with list_del_rcu() and defers their release with call_rcu() for readers already under RCU.

Linux · Linux linux kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ppp_async: drop the errored frame instead of resetting its headroom ppp_receive_nonmp_frame() prepends a two-byte direction tag before running the pass/active BPF filters: *(__be16 *)skb_push(skb, 2) = htons(PPP_FILTER_INBOUND_TAG); Nothing on the receive path guarantees those two bytes of headroom. The frame-error path in ppp_async's process_input_packet() resets a reused skb's headroom to zero while claiming to restore it to a freshly allocated state - but a fresh skb from dev_alloc_skb() carries NET_SKB_PAD: err: if (skb) { /* make skb appear as freshly allocated */ skb_trim(skb, 0); skb_reserve(skb, - skb_headroom(skb)); } ap->rpkt still points at that skb, so the next frame is reassembled into it with no headroom at all. A peer that sends a bad-FCS frame followed by one beginning ff 03 then leaves a single byte of headroom by the time the filter tag is pushed, which lands one byte below skb->head: skbuff: skb_under_panic: len:49 put:2 head:ffff888003c10000 data:ffff888003c0ffff tail:0x30 end:0x640 dev:<NULL> kernel BUG at net/core/skbuff.c:214! Besides the filter panic above, when CCP compression is enabled ppp_decompress_frame() hands skb->data - 2 to ->decompress()/->incomp(), which then reads out of bounds before skb->head for the same reason. Rather than restore the headroom, drop the errored frame - as ppp_synctty already does on its error path - and clear ap->rpkt so the next frame is reassembled into a fresh skb with proper headroom. This is simpler and fixes both the filter under-panic and the CCP out-of-bounds read. The original V1 of this patch made room in ppp_receive_nonmp_frame() with skb_cow_head(); Eric pointed out that fixing the root cause in the transport is the right approach. Found by fuzzing the PPP receive path with a mutating peer on a pty; it is an interesting (remote) DoS: root configures PPP, the peer supplies two crashing frames. The reproducer (repro-ppp-skb.c, unchanged from v1) panics in about a second, and returns cleanly with this applied.

CVE-2026-98157 5.5 Moyenne
Linux · Linux linux kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: EDAC/device_sysfs: Use kstrtouint() for poll_msec to prevent truncation The poll_msec sysfs store file uses simple_strtoul() which accepts an unsigned long, but the target field (poll_msec) is unsigned int. On 64-bit systems, a value > UINT_MAX is silently truncated when stored. Fix the mismatch by using kstrtouint() instead. This rejects values larger than UINT_MAX at parse time, making truncation impossible. Also add a check for value < 1 to reject the 0-delay case, which would cause the poll work to spin without delay and consume 100% CPU.

CVE-2026-98156 7.8 Élevée
Linux · Linux linux kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/virtio: use the DMA API for resource backing on Xen On a Xen PV domain page addresses bear no relation to the real machine addresses the host would have to use to reach it. virtio_ring.c handles this correctly, vring_use_map_api() returns true for any xen_domain() regardless of VIRTIO_F_ACCESS_PLATFORM. virtio-gpu makes the same decision independently, but its copy looks only at the feature bit: bool use_dma_api = !virtio_has_dma_quirk(vgdev->vdev); QEMU does not set iommu_platform on virtio-vga by default, so VIRTIO_F_ACCESS_PLATFORM is not negotiated, use_dma_api is false, and virtio_gpu_object_shmem_init() describes the framebuffer's backing pages to the host with sg_phys(). Those are guest-physical addresses. In a PV domain they resolve, on the host side, to pages belonging to some other domain, so the host scans out unrelated memory. Move the decision into virtio_gpu_use_dma_api() and give it the xen_domain() check, like vring_use_map_api() has. This additionally enables the dma_sync_sgtable_for_device() calls in virtgpu_vq.c, which are required for correctness whenever swiotlb is in play. Reproduced with a Xen 4.21 PV dom0 nested inside QEMU 8.2 with virtio-vga, on both a distro 6.8 kernel and 6.18 LTS. A PVH dom0 works fine and doesn't need this fix because it is identity-mapped, only PV dom0s are affected.

This could lead to issues such as reading past the slab allocation's end, infinite loops or kernel panics. For those issues to happen, a malformed wire message is needed to be sent from the device. CVE-2026-98151 5.5 Moyenne
Linux · Linux linux kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix REG INVARIANTS VIOLATION on speculative pointer arithmetic Take the following unprivileged program as an example: r0 = bpf_map_lookup_elem(...) /* PTR_TO_MAP_VALUE, offset 0 */ ... 14: r0 += r1 /* r1 is a bounded scalar */ 15: r9 = r0 Loading it triggers a verifier warning from reg_bounds_sanity_check(): verifier bug: REG INVARIANTS VIOLATION (alu): const subreg tnum out of sync with range bounds r64={.base=0x0, .size=0x0} r32={.base=0x0, .size=0xffffffff} var_off=(0x0, 0x0) What happens: 1. Processing insn 14 (r0 += r1) in adjust_ptr_min_max_vals(), the new offset is computed into dst_reg's var_off and 32/64-bit ranges. 2. Because pointer registers do not track 32-bit subregister bounds, __mark_reg32_unbounded() first sets r32 to the full range; r32 is re-derived from the offset at the end of the function by reg_bounds_sync(). 3. On the unprivileged path, sanitize_ptr_alu() is called and, via sanitize_speculative_path() -> push_stack(), snapshots the current register state and schedules the next instruction (insn 15) to be verified directly as a speculative path. 4. That snapshot is taken between step 2 and the final reg_bounds_sync(): at this point dst_reg's var_off still holds the (const) original offset while r32 has just been blanked to the full range, i.e. the two are out of sync. When the speculative path later verifies insn 15 (r9 = r0), the inconsistent state reaches reg_bounds_sanity_check() and trips the warning. var_off and the 32-bit range must always be consistent. There are two ways to keep the snapshot consistent: 1. sync var_off and r32 before the snapshot so they match, or 2. leave r32 at its original (already consistent) value and blank it only after the snapshot. The whole point of sanitize_ptr_alu() is to insert a harmless masking sequence that keeps the access in bounds under speculation, so the state it snapshots should faithfully represent that. Take approach 2: move __mark_reg32_unbounded() to after sanitize_ptr_alu(), so the speculative snapshot keeps the pointer's original, consistent r32. The non-speculative path is unchanged: r32 is still blanked before the offset is applied and re-derived by reg_bounds_sync().

CVE-2026-98150 7.0 Élevée
Linux · Linux linux kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix BPF_F_CPU validation for sparse CPU IDs BPF_F_CPU stores the target CPU ID in the upper 32 bits of the map operation flags. bpf_map_check_op_flags() currently compares that ID with num_possible_cpus(), which is the number of possible CPUs rather than a bound on CPU IDs. On an arm64 QEMU guest with a CPU device-tree hole, the possible CPU mask was 0,2-3. A userspace program using raw bpf() syscalls creates a BPF_MAP_TYPE_PERCPU_ARRAY and performs update and lookup operations for each CPU by setting BPF_F_CPU and the CPU ID in the flags. With the old check, CPU 1 is incorrectly accepted while valid CPU 3 is rejected with -ERANGE. The CPU 1 update then reaches the per-CPU map access path and triggers: Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ... pc : __pi_memcpy_generic+0x5c/0x22c lr : bpf_percpu_array_update+0x2dc/0x2e8 Call trace: __pi_memcpy_generic bpf_map_update_value map_update_elem __sys_bpf Check the CPU ID against nr_cpu_ids and cpu_possible() instead. Linux · Linux linux kernel
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf: Fix percpu map update indexing with sparse CPU IDs Per-CPU array, hash, and cgroup storage map updates without BPF_F_CPU or BPF_F_ALL_CPUS use a value buffer whose per-CPU slots are packed in possible-CPU order. The buffer is sized as: round_up(value_size, 8) * num_possible_cpus() The update paths iterate over possible CPUs, but use the logical CPU ID to calculate the source offset: value + size * cpu This only works when possible CPU IDs are contiguous starting at zero. For example, with a possible CPU mask of 0,2-3, the buffer contains three slots corresponding to CPUs 0, 2, and 3. CPU2 is therefore expected to use slot 1 and CPU3 slot 2. Instead, the current code uses slots 2 and 3 respectively, causing incorrect per-CPU values and an out-of-bounds read from the update buffer for CPU3. The corresponding lookup paths already use a dense offset while iterating over possible CPUs. Do the same for the array, hash, and cgroup storage update paths, advancing the source offset once for each possible CPU. BPF_F_ALL_CPUS continues to use the same value for every CPU.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/amdxdna: reject a command chain that carries no commands A chain whose command_count is zero passes the payload length check, because struct_size(payload, data, 0) is just the header. The fill loop then does not run, so offset stays zero and the request is submitted with a zero-length buffer. On firmware without AIE2_NPU_COMMAND that ends at the opcode check, since op is still ERT_INVALID_CMD and aie2_get_chain_msg_op() answers MSG_OP_MAX_OPCODE. aie2_get_npu_chain_msg_op() answers MSG_OP_CHAIN_EXEC_NPU whatever it is given, so there the submission continues to drm_clflush_virt_range(cmd_buf, 0), which reads the byte before the buffer and faults on the vmap guard page. EXEC_CMD is reachable by any process that can open the render node. Reject the request instead.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: accel/amdxdna: put the chained BO when its mapping fails amdxdna_cmd_set_error() looks up the first BO of a command chain, which takes a reference, and drops it at the end of the function. The mapping of that BO is established in between, and the failure path returns without the put, so the reference is leaked. Ordinary use does not reach it. The chain has been submitted before any of this runs, so aie2_cmdlist_fill_slot() has already called amdxdna_cmd_get_op() on that BO and amdxdna_gem_vmap() has cached its address. What makes it reachable is that the BO is resolved again by handle here, and the handle is userspace's to recycle: closing it after submission and importing a dma-buf whose exporter implements no vmap onto the same id leaves amdxdna_gem_get_obj() returning an object this cannot map, since prime_import() types every import AMDXDNA_BO_SHARE.

That went unnoticed while unknown values fell through the switch, but now that they are rejected, every U65 command stream that asks for natural rounding (2) fails CMDSTREAM_BO_CREATE with -EINVAL. Mesa emits it for average pooling, concatenation, split, unpack, strided slice, LUT and argmax, which is 72 failures of the Teflon test suite on an i.MX93. Truncating rounding (1) is misread as well: it picks the two-tile address path and computes a bogus feature map size from tile bases the command stream never set. Read the field as a storage mode only on the hardware where it is one.

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/cirrus-qemu: Validate BAR0 size during probe The `cirrus-qemu` driver relies on `CIRRUS_VRAM_SIZE` (4 MB) to validate framebuffer sizes. However, during PCI probe, the driver mapped BAR0 without verifying that its size matches `CIRRUS_VRAM_SIZE`. If a PCI device with a BAR0 smaller than 4 MB is bound to the driver, the mapped VRAM will be smaller than expected. Because validation checks assume 4 MB VRAM, framebuffers larger than the mapped memory can be created. When the display plane is updated (e.g. during release), `cirrus_primary_plane_helper_atomic_update()` copies the framebuffer to VRAM using `drm_fb_memcpy()`. Writing past the end of the mapped I/O memory causes a supervisor write page fault: BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffc9000389c000 ... RIP: 0010:memcpy_toio+0x7c/0xe0 arch/x86/lib/iomem.c:110 ... CVE-2026-98141 – Non évaluée
Linux
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: propagate reparse index insertion failure update_reparse_data() ignores the return value of set_reparse_index(). When index insertion fails, the code removes the just-written reparse data as cleanup but still returns 0, so symlink(2) (and WSL special file creation) reports success while no reparse data exists on disk. When there was no previous reparse data (oldsize == 0), the failure was likewise silently ignored. Propagate the error to the caller.

CVE-2026-98140 – Non évaluée
Linux
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ntfs: fix kmap_local leak in write_mft_record_nolock() error paths write_mft_record_nolock() maps the MFT record folio with kmap_local_folio(), but the pre_write_mst_fixup() and bio_add_folio() failure paths jump to the error label without unmapping it. kmap_local mappings are stack-ordered per task, so leaking one corrupts the nesting for any outer mapping. Unmap the folio on those error paths too.
